There were be five cats and five dogs, all shelter pets that have all (with the exception of one) have already been adopted into loving homes. The U.S. Postal Service hopes to raise awareness of the need to adopt shelter pets.
In celebration of the new Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet stamps, the Postal Service, together with Ellen DeGeneres and her dog food company, Halo: Purely for Pets, will be donating a million meals to animal shelters around the country. This is a wonderful public awareness campaign that all of us can take part in - be sure to get to the P.O. come April 30th and get your book of special stamps!
You can also order these on line, beginning right now, via the USPS online store - order and get the stamps delivered right to your door!
