*note: before attempting to teach this trick make sure your dog knows high five*
Ask your dog to give you a high five, then gently take his paw and lower it so its in front of his chest. Then say, "Hold your paw" and reward him with a treat. This trick takes patience so just do this simple rountine a few times a day and in a matter of a few weeks your dog should pick it up too.
Just as a side note whenever you see your dog doing a trick by himself or something you would like to train as a trick reward and praise him immediatly. This will help the dog logically get the understanding that when they perform certain ways they get your praise and/or a treat.
