It’s okay…this is not a fanny pack! This is a DOOG Walkie Belt. There are many differences. First, this belt has many compartments like a fanny pack but instead of stacking on top of each other, the Walkie Belt spreads them out around the waist. Not only does it look better, it is better for you by spreading out the weight.
There are five compartments, to be exact. The first is a reinforced strip to slip your mp3 player into, like this:

The second compartment is the bag holder. It holds 30 Tidy Bags (first 30 are included). The bags are biodegradable and scented. Refills look like travel packs of facial tissues and are available on the DOOG website.
The third compartment is actually a set of two pockets. These pockets are for your cell phone, keys, money, and anything else you need/want to carry.
Fourth from the left is the antibacterial wipes (20 count) compartment. These wipes are similar to the bags in that they are dispensed one at a time, the first set is included, and refill packs can be purchased on the DOOG website.
Last but not least is an attachment hook. It is basically one of those key ring hooks with a section that is on a spring so items can be easily attached. There are a few uses for this hook including using it as leash storage for when you let your dog off leash at the park (see photo above) or to hand the Walkie Belt up when not in use.
The DOOG Walkie Belt buckles around the waist like a fanny pack and comes in eight color/print choices. The color choices are designed for men or women. For example, there is a camouflage print, solid black, and solid red and then there is a brown with pink polka dots print, a brown with blue polka dots print, and a solid yellow color available. The first set was designed more for men while the second set was designed more for women. There are also different fabrics available ranging from denim to an all weather material. However, there is only one size available. It is somewhat adjustable near the buckle, but not by a lot. DOOG also has dog collars and leashes to match the Walkie Belts.
This Belt was designed to free up your hands and make taking a walk or hike with your companion more enjoyable. It received the “Most Innovative Product 2008” award from The Gift Awards 2008 along with recommendations from Better Homes Magazine, Modern Dog Magazine, Dog’s Life Magazine, and a few others.
At first I thought this product would be a waste of money, but after thinking more about it and doing research on it, I can really see myself using and loving this product. Hiking is a favorite pastime activity of ours, but I hate having to carry everything. Purchasing a fanny pack has crossed my mind but I really did not want to bring back those memories. The Walkie Belt is stylish, functional, and holds everything together in one place. The DOOG website even suggests to have an extra house [or car] key made to keep in the belt to save even more time and space in the pockets.
