Dog food can be a hassle to store. This is especially true when you have a 120lbs Rottweiler in a 1 bedroom apartment like yours truly. Her 50lbs bags of food (that she goes through in about a month) are a hassle to get in the apartment and to store.
When it comes to storing your pet’s food, there are a few options to choose from. Leaving the food in the bag is the obvious option, but it can be a pain. Moving the bag around can lead to rips and spills and could allow your dog to get into the bag and chow down.
That leads to other storing options. Plastic containers work fine, but what about something that will work with your decor? Here are 5 dog food storage options to check out:
Wood barrel (ohmydogsupply.com) $99.95-$156.95 by size A classic look for a classic home. These half barrels look great in log cabins or rustic style homes. The “Dog Food” nameplate on the front is removable and changeable. Call it Pet Food or Cat Food instead. The barrels are available in light brown or dark brown.
Kane Dog Feeder by Luco Manufacturing (lucoinc.com) $49.95 each This fancy feeder by Luco Manufacturing holds 25 pounds of dog food and attaches to your wall. It is activated when your dog starts eating, letting some food fall into the feeding tray. This is a great option for those pet parents who need a special height for your dog bowl. It comes in red with gray accents.
Orvis Beadboard Dog-Food-Bag Storage Bin (gearbuyer.com) $154.00 each Here is an attractive alternative to keeping the dog bag out. This solid pine storage bin, which is available in Cinnamon or Dark Cherry, will conceal up to a 20 pound bag of dry dog food. Keep the bin right next to your pet’s food bowl for easy feeding.
Food Storage by Harry Barker, Inc (Harrybarker.com) $48-$58 by size Harry Barker food storage containers are classic, elegant looking metal pails, available in white or silver to match a wide variety of decors. The containers can hold anywhere from 10 pounds to 40 pounds of dog food.
