Welcome to North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue (NADSR), the national organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of purebred Dutch Shepherds. In addition to finding new homes for our dogs, we are also very dedicated to educating the public about the responsibilities that comes with owning a dog of this breed. All too often people acquire a puppy or adult dog without knowing enough about what to expect and end up finding that they cannot handle it. This is one reason why Dutch Shepherds end up homeless. We know that with proper education and support we can better ensure that fewer Dutchies end up in shelters and that those who have recently added a DS to their family can find a place to turn when they need help. We became incorporated on January 11th of 2006 as the need for an organized rescue group became more and more apparent and officially 501(c)3 March 2009,Since our inception we have placed more than 100+ dogs, which is a lot considering the fact that the Dutch Shepherd is a rare breed. As time goes on, we hope to be able to expand our volunteer base and our treasury so that we may continue to help more dogs in need.
