3. How do I post an adoptable pet to my rescue group or shelter listed here on Yeepet?

If you have listed your shelter or rescue group on Yeepet, and wish to post your pets for adoption to your shelter or rescue group profile page, follow the steps below:

1. Log into Yeepet.

2. Click Adoption in the header. Go to the Animal Shelters page. Locate your shelter or group name listed on this page. Click the name of your shelter/rescue group.

3. You are taken to your shelter or rescue group profile page. Click the Post Pet link in the submenu right below the header. Fill in the info and click the Save button to complete your post.

Your pet will be displayed on your shelter/rescue group profile page.

4. What can I do in My Home?

You can view and manage the following in My Home:- My Profile: view and edit your private profile here.

My Pets: view and edit your pet profile(s).
My Friends: view and remove friends if needed.
My Blocklist: view members you blocked or unblock members from the list.
My Blogs: view all the blogs you wrote.
My Groups: view the groups you joined or created.
My Gifts: view the gifts you received, sent and remaining.
Mailbox: view all messages sent or received on yeepet.com, including private messages, friend requests, group mails, invitations.
Favorite Pets: view pet profiles you added as favorite.
Favorite Profiles: view your favorite list of user profiles.
Account Settings: view and update your account settings.
Address Book: view all your connections.

5. What are votes?

Registered users can vote a pet to express their likes about the pet. There are currently five votes available: One-of-a-kind, Funny, Sweet, Cute, Superstar. We rank all pets from time to time (normally on a daily or weekly basis) to showcase the most voted pets and display the pets on the home page and the Gallery page.

Click on the Give Votes link on the pet profile page and select one or more votes. The votes you sent will be displayed on the pet profile page.

6. What is Yeepet Gift Center?

Yeepet Gift Center is a place for members to redeem gifts. We want to provide everyone with a fun, engaging and rewarding experience while you interact and make posts on Yeepet.

Users earn points while making posts on Yeepet and can redeem the gifts (real products, virtual gifts) in the gift center with the points you have earned. Every gift is assigned a certain number of points you need in order to redeem. That number is like the "price" of the gift. You can redeem any gift in the gift center as long as you have sufficient point balance.

The Virtual Gifts will be available soon.

7. How do I add my pet business into Yellow Pages?

You need to be a registered user if you want to add your pet service to our Yellow Pages. Posting your pet business in the Yellow Pages is completely free, in addition, you will be able to receive service requests from our members as our online booking system allows members to send you a service request or book your service from your business profile page. So make sure your business information you add on Yeepet is complete, accurate and appealing.

1. Log into Yeepet.com.

2. Click on the Local Services tab in the header. Or go to Yellow Pages here.

3. Click the Add Business button.

4. Fill in your business information thoroughly and accurately. Upload up to 5 nice photos that represent your business well. Click on Add Business at the end of the page.

The business is posted into the Yellow Pages.

8. Editorial Guidelines of Yeepet.com

Editorial Guidelines of Yeepet.com

These guidelines are not meant to stifle your creativity nor give you a headache. They are to ensure quality content for our users and visitors and hone you as a writer. The guidelines apply to blogs, articles, and any other submitted editorial content. These guidelines are subject to change, and it is your responsibility to stay up to date on them.

1. MUST BE YOUR ORIGINAL WORK: That means no copy and pasting from the public domain, no plagiarism, no ghostwriting, no Private Label Rights (PLR) articles, no advertisements, and no press releases. We want to read what you have to say.

2. MUST BE PET-RELATED: Yeepet.com is a community of pet lovers. Unless otherwise stated, you can safely assume that any assignment or suggested topic is pet-related. For example, if the topic of "How to Survive the Holidays" were assigned to you, that means "How to Survive the Holidays With Your Pets" or "How to Survive the Holidays For Pets."

3. MUST USE CORRECT ENGLISH: This includes spelling, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, and capitalization. Incorrect usage of the English language reflects poorly on Yeepet.com and your writing. Please proofread before submission. In particular, note these rules from The Chicago Manual of Style for capitalizing blog and article titles:

- Capitalize the first letter in each word but avoid conjunctions and prepositions.

- Nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and subordinate conjunctions (such as, "than," "because," "if" and "that") are capitalized.

- Lowercase all articles, prepositions, and coordinate conjunctions (such as, "and," "but" and "so") when they are not the first or last word.

- Lowercase the "to" in an infinitive.

For stylistic purposes, please also apply these rules when creating your blog and article titles:

- Excessive punctuation is unnecessary. Use periods rarely for emphasis (...), and no more than three. Use exclamation marks rarely. One exclamation mark (!) or question mark (?) is plenty. Do not use more than one of either or both at the same time.

- Your title is what pulls your readers deeper into your work. Make it count. Short and sweet is a great motto for this. For example, "10 Toys Under $10" is far better than "I Saw Some Great Toys While I Was out Today...".

4. MUST NOT CONTAIN OFFENSIVE CONTENT: Profane, racist, defamatory, libelous, violence-oriented, obscene, or insulting language will not be tolerated. Your submissions must not contain pornography, use or advocacy of weapons, illegal drugs, prescription drugs, tobacco products, or hard alcohol. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Yeepet.com reserves the right to reject and/or remove any editorial content at any time.

5. MUST BE ACCURATE: It is the writer's responsibility to ensure the content of their submission is accurate.

6. MUST HAVE PROPER ATTRIBUTION: If you quote any source other than yourself, you must give that source attribution. Also, do not post any pictures that are not within legal bounds for you to do so or that are not the sole property of the writer. The writer is ultimately responsible for ensuring the legality of any content or pictures in their respective works.

It's great to share your knowledge and opinion; it's even better to be heard when you're doing it. The following tips are provided to help our blogging team attract more readers to their posts. Happy blogging!

Would I read this? This is a great question to ask yourself before posting a blog. Check out your headline first. Is it so intriguing that if you saw it, you would just have to click and find out more? Be honest and objective with yourself. Move onto the blog. Is it entertaining or informing enough to keep your reader engaged through the whole posting?

1. Short, sweet and concise: Some topics take longer than others, but it is generally better for you to keep it short and sweet. Why? Because many of us have short attention spans and want entertainment and information in bite-size form, not term paper format. We all hated those.

2. Get to the point quickly: Write down steps, tips or advice in the 1-2-3 format or in bullet points and briefly explain what they are. People need to understand what you are talking about quickly.

3. Proper title capitalization: Capitalize the first letter in each word in the blog title but avoid conjunctions and prepositions.

4. Great grammar: It's difficult to think highly of a writer's opinion who can't properly use the English language. We probably all need a brush up from time to time, so try to review every now and again. Here are some common grammatical errors that can make a good blog look bad:

It's and its:

- "It's" is a contraction for "it is" or "it has." If you say a sentence out loud and can replace "it's" with "it is" or "it has," you have it right.

- "Its" is a possessive pronoun, as in, "Yeepet.com is its name."

You're and your:

- "You're" is a contraction for "you are." For example, "You're going to buy some new fish?"

- "Your" is another possessive pronoun, as in, "That is your dog eating off the table."

There, their, and they're:

- "There" is used in a variety of ways such as, "There is my cat," or "Take that over there."

- "Their" is a plural possessive pronoun, as in "Their mother will arrive soon." It is only used when there is a belonging of something. It is their mother.

- "They're" is a contraction for "they are" or "they were." "They're going to Orlando today."

5. Pictures: Same goes for pictures. Nothing is like a 500-word blog about the smallest dog in the world, and there is no picture of him. Pictures really make your blogs stand out and more appealing to online readers. We love pictures. Make sure to comply with Yeepet.com's policies on picture posting.

6. Links: add links properly whenever needed to your blogs make sense to others. If you are talking about something exciting and cool but without pointing to the original page, users have to google it to find out which is such a drag and not user-friendly. But keep in mind we don't want to endorse any product, busines, service or organization unless you feel strong about it and want to highly recommended it as a consumer. Eventually you don't want your post to sound too commercial and this could decrease the value of your perspective and your credibility in our network.

7. Break it up: One huge lump of text just screams, "Don't read me." It looks like too much work to tackle the whole thing. Break up your blog into easy-to-digest paragraphs, and it will look far more appealing to your reader.

8. Write what you know and love: If you do not know nor care anything about the topic you chose to write about, by all means find another one. No one wants to read from someone who has complete apathy about their subject.
